Our Crystal Advent Calendars
Prior 2018 there was no such thing as a Crystal Advent Calendar but late one night Shaz and I came up with a special Christmas treat minus all those pesky calories.
As we were on the phone to each other at the time we both began to google crystal advent calendars to see if there was anything - nope! *crickets*
The next day we got to work on creating Australia's first Crystal Advent Calendar. Shaz set to task designing the box and finding someone to make it. I started scribbling out lists of stones on multiple pieces of paper to figure out what would work best. TBH that particular one wasn't very polished and as it was the first one we invited all feedback - the good and bad. This helped us create a much better Advent Calendar in 2019 and continue to improve each year since.
Our 2018 Crystal Advent Calendar was a mix of 21 crystals and 4 vouchers. The Unearthed Fam let us know that they didn't want the vouchers so they were scraped - "BIN IT SHAZZIE!"
In 2019 we returned with determination to make the next one unforgettable. We carefully chose 25 crystals which included some custom shapes.
Bring in 2020! This was the year we went to the Tucson Gem Show and made a heap of new connections. These connections made a huge difference in sourcing for our calendars. I believe it really did show through as the end result was gorgeous!
These days Jim, my beloved little sister and UC Operations Manager, takes on the task of sourcing items for our Advent Calendars. She loves the hunt and does an amazing job! Her hard work shown through in our 2021 Advent Calendar.
Since we released our first Crystal Advent Calendar, we get inundated with messages each year asking to know what’s in the next one - GUYS! IT’S A SURPRISE! That’s the beauty of an advent calendar.
We can’t tell you what’s in this years, but here’s a recap of the last few years so you can get an idea. We’d like you to note we level up EVERY year and aim to blow your Christmas socks off!
